چکیده
In this work, a study of the linear viscoelastic properties co-continuous polypropylene/polystyrene blends filled with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is presented. The YZZ rheological model [W. Yu et al., Polymer 51, 2091–2098 (2010)] employed to correlate behavior their microstructure and electrical properties. A test design involving sequence small amplitude oscillatory shear time sweep (simulating thermal annealing) used evaluate morphology evolution It was shown that could be successfully modified able quantify composites. calculated characteristic domain size found in good agreement experimental data obtained via scanning electron microscopy. Furthermore, it slightly decreased after 30 min annealing. shown, as well, annealing promoted reduction percolation threshold (wt. % MWCNT) from 0.28 0.06.

Viscoelasticity in carbon nanotube composites.
Polymer composites reinforced by carbon nanotubes have been extensively researched for their strength and stiffness properties. Unless the interface is carefully engineered, poor load transfer between nanotubes (in bundles) and between nanotubes and surrounding polymer chains may result in interfacial slippage and reduced performance. Interfacial shear, although detrimental to high stiffness an...
متن کاملLinear Viscoelasticity of Concentrated Emulsions
The linear viscoelastic response of an ordered dense emulsion is explored by numerical simulation. At concentrations below maximum packing, the stress relaxation is dominated by a single time scale associated with lubrication, which diverges at maximum packing. For concentrations above maximum packing, the stress relaxation is dominated by fast time scales of the order of the drop relaxation ti...
متن کاملCo-extrusion of biocompatible polymers for scaffolds with co-continuous morphology.
A methodology for the preparation of porous scaffolds for tissue engineering using co-extrusion is presented. Poly(epsilon-caprolactone) is blended with poly(ethylene oxide) in a twinscrew extruder to form a two-phase material with micron-sized domains. Selective dissolution of the poly(ethylene oxide) with water results in a porous material. A range of blend volume fractions results in co-cont...
متن کاملChitosan/nanosilver Nanofiber Composites with Enhanced Morphology and Microbiological Properties
In recent years natural polymers have been widely used in biomedical applications. Application of natural and biocompatible polymers in wound dressing, medical sutures and tissue engineering are extensively growing. Additional properties are provided when metal nanoparticles such as silver and gold are incorporated in to the fibers. However, nowadays nanofibers due to their inherent properties ...
متن کاملA thermodynamic theory of solid viscoelasticity. Part I: Linear viscoelasticity
The present series of three consecutive papers develops a general theory for linear and fmite solid viscoelasticity. Because the most important object for nonlinear studies are rubber-like materials, the general approach is specified in a form convenient for solving problems important for many industries that involve rubber-like materials. General linear and nonlinear theories for non-isotherma...
